
In the park you may see and hear monkeys... either white face or squirrel. In Spanish, the white-faced monkeys are called cariblanco (white face). The squirrel monkeys are called mono titi.

Range: south Pacific coast of Costa Rica and the north Pacific
coast of Panama near the Costa Rican border
Habitat: lowland to middle elevations
Status: Threatened by deforestation and habitat scattered but still
common in many areas
Comments: Active during the day. These monkeys eat insects and fruits,
seeds and leaves. Make chirping sounds similar to birds, move in large
groups.

Well,
we are waiting for the Howler monkeys to show up here, Since the formation
of the park, the animals have sensed that we are protecting them and they
are continuously moving into the park as they sense it is a place of refuge.
In the past years, there were no (or few) howler monkeys here in Manuel
Antonio but every cay they move closer to where we are and to our refuge.
So, by the time you come here we may have howlers here in the park. They
are large monkeys with a distinct, dominant sound. Wen you first hear them,
